Today we took a little trip to the zoo.
Lions, and tigers and bears, oh my- but that’s a giraffe.
The picture below is of an information board at the zoo. We actually saw a couple of these owls on a walk in the desert before we knew what they were.
And here is a picture of roadrunners. We’ve seen multiple roadrunners on our walks, but prior to our stay in Arizona, the only time I remember seeing a roadrunner was on Looney Tunes. They are pretty small, but very fast. I guess in ‘real life’ Foghorn Leghorn is pretty small, too.
I always love seeing the flamingos. They are so stinky, but very neat looking.
I told ya, I life the flamingos.
One of my favorite exhibits was the Monkey Village exhibit. In this exhibit the squirrel monkeys jump from tree to tree, rope to rope right around you. You walk into their exhibit and you are able to see them very close up.
The otters are some of my favorites as well. I love to see them play and it looks like they enjoy showing off.
At the Phoenix Zoo they have a large mountain goat exhibit. It’s amazing how hardy these animal are and how well they climb.
And I always love observing the flowers and different plants the area offers.
